Display problems on the web.
Basically, you need to see my cards "in person." Having been printed with laser ink, gives them a warm, friendly tone. To me they are between photographs and prints, having characteristics of both.
Each cards is done as a work of art, from the prime of my photographs. You can not really see the quality unless you see them in person. Each card is trimmed and hand folded and inserted in an acid - free envelope. A mailing envelope is included. Treatment of each card is as if it were the only one I were printing.
Displaying on the web, you see the pictures with light coming behind them, like slides. I spend a lot of time color matching in an effort to make them appear as close as possible to the final cards, but there are other problems. At different times, with different monitors of my own, the web versions look entirely different. As well, on the net, I am forced to make them less sharp, and a little out of focus, and mar them with a textural copyright note or web address note.
Looking for a shop to display my cards, and I have a stock already printed.
What might have been included in the above discussion is that there are well over four hundred cards in my personal catalog, and it is going on five hundred. I took thousands of pictures during the last couple of years, and pick the best from there. From there I try to pick what I should display on the web. Other people seem to select different cards from my stock as their favorites. If we had a shop, we could put out just a whole bunch of cards, for people to pick from.
In short, I am looking for people who have a shop of their own. Ideal would be, as well, some publishing company that we could work with to make money. I live in the Piedmont - Triad area of North Carolina, but would gladly consider working out sales in other geographical areas. Paul.
