Artists Profile, Paul Phillips

Started out wanting to be an artist, fresh out of High School. Went full time to the University of Maryland, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Arts, (that is drawing and painting,) in 1974. Someone at the Yadkin Arts Council told me the other day that their artists do other kinds of work.

I
did three years in the Army, moved around a bit between here in North Carolina
and the Midwest for a while, and then spent twenty five years as a commercial
carpenter in North Carolina.
Having gone through sickness that keeps me out of construction, I have been unemployed for several years.
Getting by as best I could, after my mother's death, inherited a little money to start trying to paint again, and tried to use photography as source files for my paintings.
Have not done much painting, so far, but I hit upon printing four-fold cards from my photography.
Above file is through March, 2010. Will add more as things unfold. So far the card business has been rather more of a hobby than a business.
A gallery I picked from posted pictures from my website http://www.paulscustomcards.com
