Just  Wait

20091216 Just Wait.


Went out today, going to check on the " job search,"  and maybe take some pictures.

Got my lunch, and my gear, and picked up a newspaper, and went to my spot.

The "Want Add" section was too short to imagine, I thought, until I remembered it always was in the middle of the week, even in normal times. The time to check is Sunday.

Parked the truck where I go, and it is very peaceful.

In the distance you could see the Great Blue Heron I had been watching, for weeks.

Today he sat there for two hours, and did not move.  It got to be almost funny, for I sat there, too.

I say I sat there.  ... I ate, I listened to the radio, I worked with my “kit,” (my gear) and sometimes shut everything off and just sat there and prayed.

It could be a difficult time, now, if I were to listen to the fears.

“Just wait,” the Holy Spirit was saying- “ having done all, stand.”

Suddenly, and I was caught off guard, the Heron flew up, across the pond, and began to fly directly at me.

He landed in front of the truck, and started looking at me.  It was if the bird were asking : "What are you doing in my front yard ? "

There, in a few minutes and a flurry of photography I got a lot of new pictures. 

I've a card business I have been working on during my infirmity.

What strikes me is the beauty of waiting, when the LORD says so.

You never know what God will do.
